What is Phentermine?
Phentermine is distributed as an appetite suppressant that is also known by several commercial brand names, most commonly - Apidex P, Duromine, and phentremene.
This prescription-only drug reduces appetite by directly acting on the hypothalamus part of the brain.
When taken, Phentermine (also known as adipex)releases a chemical messenger which tells the brain to increase production of noreponephrine - this chemical is normally at its highest when we consume a large meal. Phentermine mimics this effect and reduces appetite.
Phentermine history
Phentermine has been approved as an appetite suppressing drug by the American FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) since 1959. There have only been a few clinical studies since its release with the most recent undertaken in 1990. This study combined Phentermine with Fenfluramine which created a much stronger appetite suppressant known as Fen-Phen.
After promising success, Fen-Phen was soon taken off the shelves by the FDA after a high instance of heart disease in its users. As many as 30% of the patients who had taken the drug developed heart valve abnormalities. Phentermine however, was unaffected by the ban.
What are the side effects of phentermine?
 There are a number of Phentermine side effects which are quite concerning, they include but are not limited to - Insomnia, decrease in libido, constipation, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headaches, impotence, nervousness and upset stomach.
However the most serious is the physical and psychological dependency on the drug which can develop in some users. This is due to the fact that Phentermine is almost identical in composition to an Amphetamine.
Where can you buy Phentermine in the UK?
Phentermine has been banned from sale in the UK online and is no longer prescribed by GP's. However a quick search can reveal hundreds of sites which claim to sell Phentermine in the UK.
Our advice is to avoid them at all costs as they are illegal and may be set up to steal credit card information. Phentermine is only available in the US via prescription.
